Station Adoption – Radcliffe

The Friends of Radcliffe Station has the biggest station adoption group with 25 active members. They meet formally the last Friday of the month but you will find someone at the station most days.
The group were awarded Lead Bronze in the Community Rail Awards 2018 and in 2020 were shortlisted in the Silver category. In 2019 lead adopter Phil Thomas came 3rd in the “Outstanding volunteer” category of the Community Rail Awards – Congratulations Phil!
The group continue to improve the station for the local community and initiated some great ideas which included installing a large capacity water butt to ensure all their good work continues to bloom.

Not only do they do gardening but they organise the annual Bucket & Spade train from the station to Skegness taking 75 Radcliffe folk on a day trip to the seaside!

Coming soon a community vegetable patch on Platform 2!
