Working with Network Rail and East Midlands Railway the Poacher Line Community Partnership sought to tackle the on-going graffiti problem on Netherfield station bridge. The partnership engaged with the local community to design a mural which was placed on the bridge during the week commencing 9th August. The Mayor of Gedling attended to meet the artist, renowned London based Urban Artist Lionel Stanhope and view this wonderful mural.
Jo Andrews, Community Rail Officer for the line said: “This is has been a wonderful project to be involved with. The children have been so enthusiastic and the positive comments from people passing by has been heartwarming. Hopefully this will deter any further instances of graffiti appearing. Thank you to all those who submitted designs and to Network Rail and East Midlands Railway for supporting this project” For full details of the project and photos please click here
